Dear Mrs Steel

Thank-you for being a great Deputy Principal by helping Mrs Driver and for helping everyone with countless things like emailing the morning messages to us every day. If you weren’t around, I don’t know what the school would do without you.

Dear Vicki

Thank you sooooo much for always being there for us. We are so grateful to you and wish that you would never ever, ever leave. The reasons I am thanking you are because you mark our spelling, choose the best workers for poems, sign our diaries  and you read a book to us each week in the library.

Kind regards

Macy

Dear Mr Leslie

I would like to give a kind thanks to you for all your hard work in our school, as you have contributed hugely to making our school a safer environment. I really appreciate your effort to make our school a safer, cleaner and most of all a better place to be. I understand that being a Property Manager is a tough job but it’s also very important and therefore, you are just as important as the rest of the teachers. Imagine our school without you! Nobody to blow the leaves away, bark all over the courts, oh how messy it would be! This school wouldn’t be half as clean as it is now without you! You mean the world to us Mr Leslie… you really do.

Sincerely
Ben

Dear Mrs Robinson

Thank you for teaching me English. Now my English is better. When I came here I didn’t even know my ABC. I can now read the same books as the children in my class. I liked learning the Sports words because I am Sporty Steven!

Fidget Letters

Room 18 wrote persuasive letters to Mrs Driver about Fidget Spinners and our school's ban on them.

Dear Mrs Driver
Our class has been discussing about whether fidget spinners should be kept at school or not.

I agree with the rule and understand why fidget spinners should be banned.

Firstly, we come to school to learn, right? We are not supposed to distract other student’s learning. We can always play with them as much as we want while we are at home.

Secondly, nobody likes to lose things. Fidget spinners could get lost at school and we don’t want to go home with tears.

Thirdly, we might get injured due to fidget spinner’s fast speed.

Last of all, kids that don’t have them will be left out and might bug their parents to buy them one.

There is no reason why fidget spinners should be kept at school. However, if  any student have been told by a doctor that he/she really needs a fidget spinner for concentration or any other purposes, then they could go to a teacher to ask for permission to bring it.

Thank you for banning fidget spinners.

Dear Mrs Driver,

I disagree with the rule that fidget spinners are banned at school because some kids need them to concentrate.
We probably could have fidget spinners at school if there were strict rules about when we could use them.
We could have fidget spinners at school if we weren't silly with them. When we were bored at lunch time we would have something to do. When our friends run away from us at lunch time we  have something to do or play with.

Dear Mrs Driver

I agree with the rule no fidget spinners allowed in the school because they could get lost or stolen. Everyone might argue over them  or get hurt.

Dear Mrs Driver

I agree with you that we should not have fidget spinners because…firstly some fidget spinners are valuable so if they drop they could easily break. Also, people could have fights with them. They can get too addicting and people might not listen to their teachers when they're explaining something. They can hurt other people.
People might tease others saying that their one is better.
They could get rusty and fall apart. Some people might not have one and some people might and they could also tease them about that.

Arts Week Dragon Art

Today we started our art unit with Ms Maloni. We are working to complete a piece of art for our calendar art and a piece of art for the School Art Exhibition.
We started with a story, Ignis. After that we looked at pictures of different dragons. Next we practised sketching the parts of a dragon...head, wing, foot and tail. What a lot of super artists we have in Room 18!

Tait's Autumn Poem

Autumn is
Beautiful leaves as red as blood clutching onto the tree

Cute Tuis tweeting loudly in the tree like a piano being played be a pianist

Old, crunchy leaves getting broken down into little pieces in my hands

Leaves starting to twirl off the tree like graceful ballerinas

Smelling the beautiful, fresh, relaxing Autumn breeze

Colourful leaves old or soggy wet or strong
Flowers closing, winter is coming

Leaves as crunchy as crackers
Leaves as delicate as glass

Grass as wet as soggy damp chips
Trees as colourful as a rainbow
Red leaves, brown leaves slowly drifting down
